Heartworm

Heartworm disease is a parasitic infection that occurs in dogs and cats and can be fatal if not treated.  Heartworms are transmitted when an infected mosquito bites your pet.  This parasite makes its home in the animal's heart or lungs causing the animal to become very sick.
