Homemade Dog Treats

Barkin' Birthday Cake

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Wheat Germ
  • 1 cup Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1/2 cup Cornmeal
  • 1/2 cup Vegetable Oil
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 cups Chicken Broth

Pre-heat oven at 375 degrees.
Combine dry ingredients in large bowl.
Add oil, eggs, and broth
Stir until well blended
Prepare Bundt pan or two 8" baking pans with liberal coating of shortening, and sprinkle lightly with flour
Pour batter into pans and bake for 45 minutes
Let cool before removing cake(s) from pan before drizzling with small amount of prepared chicken gravy

 


 

Banana Carob Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cup Ripe Bananas, mashed
  • 1/4 cup Applesauce
  • 3 cups Uncooked Oatmeal
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 cup Carob Chips

Pre-heat oven at 350 degrees
Stir together all ingredients until mixed
Roll into balls the size of a walnut and drop onto ungreased cookie sheet. Press flat with a fork
Bake for 15 minutes.
Cool before serving
Store in refrigerator

 


 

Homemade Dog Biscuits

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup Beef Broth
  • 1/3 cup Margarine
  • 1/2 cup Powdered Milk
  • 1 Egg, beaten
  • 3 cups Whole Wheat Flour

Preheat oven at 250 degrees
In a large bowl, pour heated beef broth over margarine to melt
Add powdered milk, egg and a pinch of salt
Slowly add flour 1/2 cup at a time, mixing well - The dough will be stiff
Roll dough to 1/2" thickness and cut with your favorite cookie cutter
Place on cookie sheet treated with fat-free, non-stick baking spray.
Bake for 45 minutes
Let cool and store in air-tight container

  


 

Lip-Smackin' Dog Brownies 

Ingredients:

1 pound Beef Liver

4 Eggs

1 Cup Cornmeal

Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Cut liver into several small pieces
Mix liver with eggs and cornmeal in a blender or food processor until smooth
Pour into 8 inch square baking pan that has been treated with fat-free non-stick cooking spray
Bake for 30 minutes
Cool, cut into bite-sized squares and serve
