Heartworm Blood Test

Heartworm Test

This test detects the presence of heartworm. Heartworm is a parasite that lives in the heart. The larval are passed from one animal to another by the mosquito. The immature heartworms migrate to the heart and lungs as they develop over the next few months. This interferes with the ability to pump blood to the rest of the body, and the animal becomes very sick.
