Microchip

We strongly recommend placing a microchip into your pet at the time of the surgery.  This small "chip", about the size of a long grain rice, contains a one-of-a-kind identification number.  Similar to a vaccination, it is injected under the skin of your pet.  This form of I.D. is permanent and can not fall off, as is the case with metal tags. Tattoos do not provide information for finding owners.

If your lost pet is found at a participating shelter, he or she will be checked for a microchip with a special scanner.  Lost pets are being found everyday using this system.

There is an additional charge for this service.
