Ferret Kit Wellness Plan

Veterinary  care should begin with a complete physical exam as soon as you get your ferret.  Your ferret's first year is important and during your initial visit to Georgetown Animal Clinic, PC, our health care team will plan a wellness program specifically designed for your ferret.

Ferrets have a life span of 5-7 years.  They begin to show signs of aging after only 3 years of age.  We recommend 2-3 physical exams for your pet at this young age, and 2 physical exams for ferrets over 1 year of age.  This helps us to catch disease problems early, allowing for early treatment and hopefully elimination of many diseases.

Our Kit Ferret Wellness Program Includes the Following:
  • 2-3 Wellness Exams
  • 2    Ferret Distemper Vaccinations
  • 1    Ferret Rabies Vaccination
  • 1    Fecal Exam to check for Intestinal Parasites
  •       Ear Smear to Check for Ear Mites
  •       Ear Mite Treatment (if needed)
  •       Handout and Discussion of Special Needs of Ferrets
